Laerdal Global Health: Helping Save Lives on the Day of Birth

Laerdal Global Health released an annual video reporting the good progress and results achieved in the collaboration with partners in the Helping Babies Breathe, Helping Mothers Survive, Day of Birth and Survive & Thrive alliances.

We are pleased to announce that, since the Helping Mothers Survive Bleeding After Birth program started in May 2013, MamaNatalie Birthing Simulators donated from the Buy One Gift One program have been used to train more than 300 trainers in over 40 countries.

The Helping Babies Breathe campaign, now introduced in 60 countries, has trained over 150 000 health workers in newborn resuscitation. Results from Tanzania show that Helping Babies Breathe has led to a reduction in early newborn mortality by as much as 47%.

May the New Year bring further hope of a better future for mothers and newborns in low resource settings!
