400 Students Receive Hands-Only CPR Training
More than 400 Grade 6 students learned how to save a life with hands-only CPR, thanks to a pilot project that lets them take home their own instructional DVD and manikin to practise on.
The pilot started in May with CPR sessions held at 9 different schools in New Brunswick. Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick partnered with the NBEMS PAD program (who are also the provincial partners for the HSF AED program).
The CPR Anytime DVD was shown and then a hands on demonstration of of CPR and the use of an AED was done.
The students were challenged to go home with their kits and reach/teach more people. They were able to reach close to 500 more people!
