Thousands of patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) fail to receive critical therapy in a timely fashion, and nearly 30% of patients with STEMI do not receive reperfusion treatment at all.  As a result, the American Heart Association and Laerdal Medical alliance has created a dynamic online program -- Learn:™ Rapid STEMI ID.

This self-paced course prepares an individual to evaluate and assess victims with potential symptoms of myocardial infarction, interpret their ECG for signs of STEMI, and activate a system of care for rapid reperfusion of an occluded coronary artery. 

Course Covers:

• Understanding STEMI Systems of Care
• Basics of ACS and triage of STEMI patients
• Acquiring high-quality, 12-lead ECGs
• 12-lead findings that mimic STEMI
• Practice 12-lead ECG test
• 2-part AHA exam 

Learn:™ Rapid STEMI ID features narrated lessons, animated graphics, interactive mini-games, and self-study cards.  Students who successfully pass the cognitive and ECG recognition post-course tests can receive a completion certificate and are eligible for CE credits.  Upon completion of the course and applying for CE credits, participants can also choose to enroll in the STEMI Recognized Provider Program and will receive a FREE enrollment certificate and lapel pin (while supplies last).
