BLS Anytime for Healthcare Providers
This new self-directed, instructional kit combines the HeartCode BLS™Part 1 cognitive program with CPR skills practice to provide students an alternative method to complete the Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers course.
Developed in collaboration with the American Heart Association, this program focuses on the individual learner, and guides students through BLS for Healthcare Providers course content. The self-directed learning tools included in the kit allows students to practice BLS skills at a pace best suited to their individual learning styles. Psychomotor skills of adult and infant CPR and ventilation techniques, using a bag-mask-device, are practiced with the aid of personal manikins, training resuscitators and an instructional DVD. The cognitive BLS lessons are accessed through the HeartCode BLS Part 1 online program.
Upon completion of the cognitive and skills practice portions, students must meet with an American Heart Association BLS Instructor for a skills test (Part 3). Students who successfully complete parts 1, 2 and 3 receive their BLS for Healthcare Providers course completion card.

Intended Audience:
This kit is designed to provide those who need or want a BLS for Healthcare Providers course completion card, a self-directed means of completing the cognitive (Part 1) and skills practice (Part 2) requirements for the American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers program. The Skills testing portion (Part 3) must be completed with an American Heart Association BLS Instructor. This program can be used for initial or renewal BLS for Healthcare Providers training.
