Simulation in Nursing Education Volume II Patient Cases

Auto Mode Patient Cases for SimMan 3G

This package contains 10 core and 10 complex patient cases, applicable to all types of undergraduate nursing programs, that are more advanced than volume 1. Using SimMan 3G’s Auto Mode it’s easier than ever to challenge your nursing students to diagnose and treat rare cases in a clinical environment. Medical cases range from sickle cell anemia, experience with malfunctioning pacemaker/defibrillator to renal failure and acute severe pancreatitis.

Utilizing the National League for Nursing patient cases, the Laerdal SimMan™ 3G simulator is designed to encourage students to assess and manage patients by identifying key indicators and performing critical interventions.

SimMan 3G’s Auto Mode combines physiological and pharmacological models, pre-programmed patient cases and methods for managing model-based simulation allowing the instructor to tailor each patient case to match the student’s level of skills.

The patient cases are designed to provide fidelity within the simulation, determine the appropriate level of complexity, embed cues and provide adequate debriefing opportunities using the Quality and Safety Education for Nurses (QSEN) competencies.
