Trends in Simulation

Laerdal Medical is now welcoming Abstract submissions for consideration for the “Trends in Simulation” general session lightning rounds. Participants with selected abstracts will have the opportunity to present a 7 minute synopsis on any topic highlighting outcomes and lessons learned from current trends that are affecting their simulation training program.

A. Who Should Submit

Professionals committed to supporting, promoting and advancing simulation training programs within their communities. This includes organizational leaders, managers and staff, educators, and practicing clinicians, including medical directors, registered nurses, paramedics, emergency medical technicians and all other members of the healthcare community.

B. What to Consider

  • What cutting edge trends are impacting the way you utilize simulation training in your educational program?
  • How does the abstract demonstrate best practices, new innovations, successes, or other lessons learned?
  • How will the abstract be relevant in 2014?
  • How does the abstract address quality and/or performance in patient care?

C. Deadline for Submission

  • Abstracts for the Philadelphia SUN are due by July 15, 2014
  • Abstracts for the 2015 Spring SUN are due by January 10, 2015
  • Notification of  selected abstracts for the Philadelphia SUN will be sent via email no later than October 17, 2014

D. Where to Present

  • Location: December 2 - 4, 2014 in Philadephia, Pennsylvania
  • Date TBD Spring, 2014

F. How to Submit

  • Review the requirements for the submission, which consists of two parts:
    • a) A 300 word abstract, and
    • b) A biography - Single presenter allowed for each lightning round abstract presented
  • Submit the abstract proposal electronically by visiting the Online Abstract Submission Form
  • Multiple submissions will be accepted; however, please complete and submit a separate abstract for each proposed session
