Our courses and services are designed to increase your ability to effectively operate Laerdal patient simulators for teaching and evaluating learning objectives using medical simulation.

There are two ways to take a course with Laerdal Services. You can come to a Laerdal Authorized Training Center or an Educational Specialist can come to your facility and deliver on-site training for up to 8 participants.

Introductory Training for Patient Simulators

2-Day Course
Offered at our Training Centers and On-site
Earn 12 Hours of Continuing Education Credit!

These basic courses enable participants to assemble their simulators, operate the simulator’s user interface, and plan, program and run scenarios using an instructional design process. Participants will develop two complete scenarios and receive worksheets and checklists for future scenario development.

Physicians, nurses, and paramedics will earn twelve hours of continuing education credit upon successful completion of this course.

Update Training for Patient Simulators

1 Day Course
Delivered on-site at your Facility
Pre-requisite: Introductory Simulator Course

These basic refresher courses reinforce fundamental skills such as programming and operation of the simulator in various modes. Participants complete one programmed scenario and receive worksheets and checklists for future scenarios.

Attendees must have participated in an Introductory Simulator Assembly and Programming Course or have commensurate experience operating a simulator.

Scenario Programming for Patient Simulators

1 Day Course
Training is delivered on-site at your Facility
Pre-requisite: Introductory Simulator Course

This course is designed for the advanced user who seeks additional skills programming scenarios. Participants learn scenario design using the Laerdal Scenario Programming Worksheet. Emphasis is placed on programming trends and handlers.

Attendees must have attended an Introductory Simulator Course or possess commensurate experience operating a Laerdal simulator.

Teaching with Scenarios

1 Day Course
Training is delivered on-site at your Facility
Pre-requisite: Introductory Simulator Course

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to install a Laerdal Scenario Package on a licensed PC and identify scenario learning goals and supporting material. Class time also includes identification of equipment needs, learner roles, and correct treatment parameters.

The course concludes with instruction and best practices for conducting a debriefing and guided reflection session that keys in on maximizing the learning experience for your students.
