(1926-2005) Medal of Honor, 1945
Robert E. Bush
During WWII, Hospital Apprentice First Class Bush dropped out of high school and enrolled in basic training with the Naval Medical Corps. At age 18, he distinguished himself in the Pacific theater caring for a Marine Officer and refusing to abandon the wounded, despite his own serious wounds. Bush was the youngest U.S. Sailor during WWII to receive the Medal of Honor.
