AHA has developed new Instructor Course materials that will aid in providing quality and consistency in all Instructor training. Each Instructor Course will have three components that are discipline-specific: 1) the Instructor Essentials online course; 2) a classroom Instructor Course; and 3) course monitoring.
For full information on AHA Instructor Course requirements, refer to the official AHA Training Bulletin: 2013 Instructor Course Requirements, on the AHA Instructor Network.
Before beginning the Instructor training process, candidates must have a current provider course card for their chosen discipline, and must align with an American Heart Association Training Center that is accepting new Instructors in their chosen discipline.
Upon successful completion of all steps, candidates receive an Instructor card, valid for two years.
